I still don't have much time to draw, but I promised to do a Secret Santa picture for stephaniescarlet on deviantart, otherwise it would be unfair if she didn't get anything.

Drawing outdoors 2

Been busy writing my story all week so I didn't manage to keep up my drawing habit like I wanted :(

The good new is that I had another drawing day, where I drew the Darling Harbor and (1/3) of Saint Mary's Cathedral (below)

I'm trying to think of a name for this character. I think I'll call him Aiden or Ethan but I'm not too sure. His design is a bit plain at the moment but I'll make him look cooler later.

I just finished this picture of my characters Lapis and Andy from my story The Wish Bringer.

I sketched out some of their costume designs a few days ago (pictures bellow), but they were really messy so I really wanted to do colour versions of them.  These two characters don't interact together in the story very much, but... who cares. (Actually the real reason is that I don't have to draw two pictures lol).

Also Andy (red hair) isn't a main character in my story, but she has the best fashion sense out of all the characters, so I enjoy drawing her in different outfits.

P.S I used on of darkySTOCK's pictures as reference for the poses and door.

Sometimes I go to the city, with the intention of drawing, but I don't do it very much, because drawing by myself can get a bit boring.  So this time I came up with a better idea, to draw with my friends; simple enough. 

So yesterday I went out with my friends to the city and drew from real life.  It was a lot of fun hanging out with my friends as well as getting some drawing practise in. 

For anyone else, who wants to draw from real life, I suggest you do it as a group =)

Story and conseptual art

I mentioned in my last entry, I haven't been able to draw very much, because I've been writing a story.  The title of the story is called "the Wish Bringer", which is about a guy, who grants wishes in exchange for people's souls.  Here is a small section of the story as well as some conceptual art work.

Lapis:  “I really don’t remember a lot of things.  One day I just woke up, as though I was born again.  I was in a strange pace, with no idea of who I was, not even my name.  Someone I met mentioned how mysterious I was and that my eyes shone like a lapis lazuli.  So I ended up calling myself Lapis, like the stone.

Despite not knowing anything I had really strong drive, like I was meant to do something more with my life, so I travelled in pursuit of answers.  Who was I and what was I doing… or rather what was I supposed to do.  Lately I’ve begun to remember things, beautiful yet strange.

I am haunted by fragmented visions of a wonderful, yet frightening place.  Yet it feels so distant to me, almost as if these fantastical dreams are not my own, like they belong to someone else.

I keep seeing a girl.  I feel as though I should know her, but I don’t.  Like I said before, I don’t remember a lot… but I think she’s someone I left behind.

I have no idea who she is and what her connection to me is, but I do have a clue.  It’s like a promise, a song that keeps playing in my head.

It’s such a strange riddle; I really can’t figure it out.  I think she needs me… who ever she is.”
